SUPPORT OUR MISSION
We expand protected areas, support ecological research, and empower the public to become stewards and advocates for the natural world.
OUR VISION AND MISSION
Birds are amongst the most easily appreciated organisms in nature, and they are also excellent indicators of ecosystem health. Our work is focused on building the capacity of nonprofit operations, both domestically and abroad, to conserve populations of threatened birds and associated biodiversity.
Achieving successful, enduring conservation outcomes cannot be achieved just by protecting birds, of course. Knowing this, many of the groups we support focus on a broader suite of ecosystem indicators such as watershed health and function, carbon sequestration, resilience, and the protection of biodiversity hotspots, endemic species, and declining populations of keystone species. Advocacy, and the will of people to fight for these causes and engage with decision makers then requires passion and education. Therefore, we also support efforts to work with youth and partner with local communities to ensure they are both consulted and committed to the long-term sustainability of our investments, and share a sense of ownership in the process and outcomes. The mission of March Conservation Fund seeks to capture these values:
We expand protected areas, support ecological research, and empower the public to become stewards and advocates for the natural world.
